A specialist commercial consultancy, regulated by RICS and ISO 9001:2015 accredited was set up to support clients operating in the highways, transport, construction, and infrastructure sectors with all the challenges associated with new and existing frameworks and project-specific contracts. This enables them to focus on efficient and effective delivery, leading to successfully running contracts for all parties.

Director Rob Hubbard is a chartered quantity surveyor who has had a diverse career with over 30 years’ experience, progressing from site-based roles with Tier 1 contractors through managerial roles to director level in private practice. Rob has led teams to deliver a wide range of construction and civil engineering projects in several varied sectors.

From feasibility studies through to final account and further through dispute resolution, Rob has successfully managed the commercial delivery of projects and programs of work. He has a direct and immediate experience of the needs and requirements of both contractor and employer organisations and prides himself on delivering efficiently and effectively and to exceptionally high standards.

He has a MSc in construction law and dispute resolution and acts as a Construction Adjudicator, Arbitrator, a RICS registered expert witness and is currently also studying to become a registered mediator. Rob is also a fellow of the following professional bodies: Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS), Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (FCInstCES), Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation (FCIHT), Institute of Highway Engineers (FIHE). Rob is also a member of the Association of Project Managers (MAPM) and associate member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (AMICE).

Cantidad is also supported by a team of other consultants to help give you specialist advice whenever needed.

It works well for us as it enables us to offer a flexible and affordable service, meaning our clients receive the same experience at a lower cost, due to reduced overheads. It also means we can draw on the talents of a wider pool as and when we need to.

    Senior Consultant

    Raheel is a highly motivated, ambitious, and competent Quantity Surveyor who is eager and keen to learn new skills with a successful record of delivering civil engineering projects in highways, airports, and public realm over almost 10 years. He is a highly ethical individual who takes pride in minimising costs and enhancing value for money while at the same time achieving the highest standard and quality.

  • Simon Bassi

    Senior Consultant

    Simon is an experienced Chartered Senior Estimator and Quantity Surveyor with a technical background in heavy civil engineering and rail with an excellent working knowledge of CESMM and Railway Method of Measurement. Simon also has extensive experience working alongside public sector clients on highways programs. Overall, Simon has been fulfilling roles in the industry for almost 20 years.

    Having worked for both major contractors and also successfully established and ran a specialist sub-contract company I feel gives me both a unique perspective and set of job skills.

  • Mary Cross

    Delay Expert / Expert Witness

    Mary Cross is an Expert Witness specialising in programming and delay, and she has undertaken a large number of appointments on high value disputes across a range of sectors in the construction industry.

    She has provided her reports in a number of forums including adjudication and the Court of Session and has particular experience on NEC3/NEC4 disputes. She is conversant with all forms of programming software.

    She also assists contractors and sub-contractors with the preparation of extension of time claims to ensure their full entitlement can be realised.

    Clients and instructing solicitors praise Mary’s pragmatic approach to forensic delay analysis which focuses on a thorough examination of the facts and understanding of the realistic critical path rather than an undue emphasis on programming software.

    Mary is skilled at quickly gaining a grasp of the facts in complex matters and is often instructed to provide expert reports within the constraints of the adjudication process.

  • Harry Walshaw

    Consultant

    Harry is an enthusiastic person with a positive and focused attitude. Harry has over five years of experience in commercial and contract management, first, successfully crafting his trade on site with a small, multi-trade contractor company, learning the foundations of the trades before transitioned a consultancy role allowing him to bring a well-rounded skill set to every project he undertakes.

    His experience spans across a wide range of building construction and infrastructure projects for local authorities and private clients, where he has lead work om the financial, contractual and resource aspects to ensure timely delivery of projects and commissions within budgetary constraints.

    He prioritises building strong, collaborative relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders, which enriches the overall project experience and enjoys the versatile requirements of the Quantity Surveying role. The various captivating projects demands which shape a stimulating and engaging environment with each programme presenting unique requirements.

    This not only fuels Harry’s enthusiasm but also provides continuous opportunities for professional growth and development. Currently in the closing stages of his BSc Hons degree combined with RICS, he is committed to lifelong learning and continually seeks to improve his skills, making him a key asset to any team, always ready to adapt to the evolving demands of the construction industry.
